AkitaV2

Akita V2 entered Club100 after Adrian Case set up Monday Night Racing to compete in the rookie championship in 2009. Managing director Christophe Boudet rebranded Monday Night Racing as Akita MNR and set up a second team: Akita V2, citing version two is usually better than version one. This certainly proved to be the case and the team won in only their third race. Initially comprising Boudet, Alexi Vasiliou and Sean Williams, the team continued to put in good performances in their first year to end the season an impressive third in the championship.

Promotion to the intermediate championship the following year saw even better results and they scored two second places and five wins - including three straight wins at the end of the season - to wrap up the title with ease.

A swift promotion to the Clubman championship for 2012 saw a decline in results. As many inters champions find, the jump to Clubmans is a big one. Two podiums, including a solitary win in the middle of the season, meant the trio finished seventh in the championship. At the end of the year, Vasiliou left the team and was replaced by the rapid Carl Tebbutt. Over the next two seasons more race wins came the team’s way but a lot of bad luck and banditry from Tebbutt prevented them from adding another championship to their tally. Despite finishing third in both 2013 and 2014, Tebbutt left the team to join Tanked Up Racing and was replaced by veteran Eddie Hall for an assault on the 2015 title.
